The Company

Established in 1989 on the French Riviera, Coast and Country is an Estate Agency  selling quality property to an International Clientele.
The agency is staffed by a small team of dedicated professionals, whose aim is to give you a personal service, which is efficient, honest and helpful. Most of the staff have been  in the company several years and have a thorough knowledge of the areas they cover.
The quality of the service offered  ensures that our clients do not hesitate to recommend us and “word of mouth”  is a major reason for the company’s success.
The main office is situated in Mougins  with  sub-offices Near Lorgues in the Var and in the Vence area.
It is important to realise that all aspects of real-estate property sales and letting are very carefully regulated and controlled.
Anyone offering Estate Agency services in France must be fully insured and show a registration number of a Carte Professionnelle. This assures you that the agency and all the people associated with it are working correctly and within French laws. All other sales agents working in the Agency must also be registered. Anyone who is selling property or offering property for sale and who does not have these credentials is working illegally.

The Team

Alistair Buchan – Manager/Owner and co-holder of the Carte Professionelle

 Alistair is Scottish and holds an MBA from the London Business School. After an international career in the Oil Industry and Management Consultancy he set up a successful yacht charter and sales business in the South of France, before moving to Coast and Country at the end of the ‘90s.  He speaks fluent French and English

Nathalie Finaz-Buchan - Responsable for sales in the Vence and Nice areas and co-holder of the Carte Professionelle

 Nathalie is French and holds a Master in Economics. More than 10 years working experience with Nestle France, first in marketing research and later as product manager in France and the USA. Was a marketing teacher in several business schools in the Nice area for 15 years and has run her own small businesses. Is fluent in English and French.

Maria Dailler - Sales in Mougins/Cannes area

Maria was born and educated in England. After a number of years working in fashion, then hotels, and traveling internationally for Lloyds underwriters, she decided to a move to France to manage a small hotel on the Cap d’Antibes.  Following the sale of this hotel she ran a luxury villa rentals service.  The move to Coast and Country was to join a team of professionals and to assist clients to find their dream homes and has been a very happy member of the team since 1995. She speaks fluent French and English.

Guillaume Hess - Sales in Mougins/Cannes area

Guillaume is French and studied business in Paris followed by business and industrial design in Strasbourg. He began his career in industrial design in Canada, then held various jobs in the construction industry in Europe, followed by a return to his native Strasbourg to work as manager in an internal finishing company. Friendship with an employee of Coast and Country made him leave Strasbourg for Mougins where he has worked for 9 years. He is fluent in French and English, speaks German and understands Dutch.

Silje Frogner-Tangen  - Responsible for sales to the Scandinavian Market

Silje is Norwegian and holds a Master degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo. She worked as a consultant for 3 years in an opinion poll institute in Norway before she moved to France in 2008. Having bought a house through Coast and Country she decided to come and work with us. She speaks fluent English, Norwegian and has good communication skills in French, Swedish and Danish

Philip Mason – Responsible for sales in the Lorgues/St Tropez area

Philip is English and holds a B.A. in Modern Languages from Nottingham University (a long time ago!).  Extensive business experience culminating as M.D. of UK marketing subsidiaries of French companies.  Has lived and worked  in Milan. And has been in France for 16 years.  Fluent in English and French; speaks Italian and German too.  Now 8 years in estate agency with Coast and Country
