The courtyard itself is an impressive size, 650 square meters and from here there are the most lovely views of the surrounding hills and neighbouring villages. This view could not be spoiled by the current blight of modern housing estates that are springing up in the whole Languedoc area as the hills are too steep and the vineyards - used for the production of the world famous Limoux wine - are too valuable.
This is a very picturesque area with rolling countryside and quaint villages as well as the historically interesting towns of Limoux and Carcassonne just on the doorstep. Carcassonne airport is 26 kms away, other convenient airports would be Perpignan and Beziers. The Mediterranean is not far, with beaches south of Narbonne, about 100 kms, and there is ski-ing in the Pyrenees, also about 100 kms away.
