Over the two week festival period dozens of intricately decorated floats will parade along the world-famous Promenade des Anglais, which lines Nice’s beautiful Baies des Anges, a short drive from our collection of property for sale in St Paul de Vence.
Nice Carnival will this year be themed on the King of Sport, to tie in with the 2012 Olympics, which will take place in London in July. Indeed, the guest of honour at Nice’s fortnight-long fiesta is Great Britain due to its leading Olympic role as well as its historical ties with the city of Nice.
During Nice Carnival, parades take place day at night with entertainment provided by more than 1,000 musicians and dancers from across the world.
Large areas of the city, especially near the Promenade des Anglais, are closed off to traffic during the carnival so those looking for property for sale South of France who would like to check out the parades are advised not to drive into the city centre.
