The Barbaroux Golf Course is situated in the heart of Provence a few kilometres to the east of the Var town of Brignoles with its easy motorway access. It is an 18-hole course with a length of 6,069, built on a magnificent 87 hectares woodland site. It was designed by Pete and P.B. Dye the well-known American father and son team, combining respect for the natural environment with technical flare. It was the first Dye creation in France and when it opened in 1989 was quite controversial as they considerably transformed the topography of the land, creating a mixture of styles ranging from links-like holes with blind shots to US-styled target golf holes protected by water. In spite of this variation the Barbaroux course has a charm that few can resist. Amongst other features it boasts the biggest green in Europe – 69 meters long. To sum up, using the words of a well-known golf expert: “Barbaroux is one of the rare golf courses where every hole is ‘unforgettable’ and where the greens are fast and honest. If I was to spend the rest of my life playing the same French golf course, it would be Barbaroux.”
The modern, yet cosy clubhouse is situated so as to offer panoramic views of the course. It has a gastronomic restaurant “Les Terrasses du Golf”, a brasserie and a bar. There is a hotel surrounded by Mediterranean forest, with 24 comfortable rooms and 10 self-catering apartments, a swimming pool and tennis courts.
Property for sale includes apartments situated in an attractive low-rise development next to the clubhouse, as well as quality villas built on individual plots of land. All the private villas are in a gated domain within walking distance of the club and hotel. Most are laid out to overlook one of the greens.
