The Victoria Golf Course is situated a short distance from the medieval village of Valbonne and the Sophia Antipolis business park. The golf course is built on the site of the Chateau du Val Martin, which at one time served as a Spa, before being used by the Victorine film studios for exterior film sets, and then a riding school. It is a 9-hole, par 34 course and is 2334m long, designed in 1987 by Michel Gayon. He has created a quite technical, hilly course offering a challenging round for all levels of golfers. There are numerous ponds and bunkers waiting to trap the unwary and straight play is also required to avoid the surrounding woods. As with many South of France courses it is set in a very verdant situation creating an atmosphere of calm, far from the hectic life of the French Riviera. There is an excellent restaurant, the “Roseraie”, with outside dining terraces overlooking the golf course.
On the southern edge of the course, by the main entrance and the clubhouse, there is a small development of apartments, finished to a high standard by Bouygues Immobilier, in 2006. Coast and Country generally has some of these apartments for sale at prices around 6000€/m²
